About This Blog

General:
This is a book review blog where I share my thoughts on mainly YA fiction with the occasional dose of classic literature. I also review on Goodreads, so if something here seems familiar, that's probably why. I purchase books by and for myself, so all reviews are purely my thoughts upon the completion of the book. You'll notice I only review books that I rave about, and that's because a) those are the books I'm passionate enough about to review, b) I generally only pick up books I'll love, and c) even if I had a book I didn't like, I wouldn't review it because i) I don't want to spend more time with a book I didn't like and ii) no one online needs a list of books not to read.

Specifics:
My book reviews consist of four sections:
Intro: general info, like when I bought the book, how long it took to read it, why I chose to pick it up, etc.
What I Liked: scenes, characters, plot points that I enjoyed, aspects of the author's style that blew me away, etc. Just all the good stuff.
What I Didn't Like: never a critique of the book or author, more an in-universe discussion of things I didn't like that characters did, or decisions that I though were dumb of them (even though I know that they were necessary for plot development, etc.).
Final Thoughts: Other little tidbits, my overall thoughts, whether or not I'd recommend it, etc.

Features:
Marmoreal Mondays: A feature every Monday where I do something that isn't a book review. This could be something personal, like who my favorite author is and why, or something entertainment related, like what TV shows I'm watching. It could even be my thoughts on some major current event, though that is very unlikely.
Bite-Size Book Recs: These are little tidbits of books I want to mention, yet don't want to give a full reviews, maybe because I'll gush too much, I read it too long ago, or I expect most people are already familiar with the book. They will appear irregularly, but always be in the format of who (should read it), what (the book is), when (you should read it), where (you should read it) and why (you want to read it)
